“Japan supports the Inter-Sectoral Commission for Demining and Humanitarian Assistance (CNIDAH) in Angola” 

The Government of Japan and the Government of Angola have signed an agreement for a Japanese contribution of approximately US$ 4,000,000 through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)and THE United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to the Government of Angola through UNDP in support of strengthening the technical and operational capacity of the National Institute for Demining (INAD).The formal signing ceremony of the exchange of notes between the Government of Japan, Government of Angola and UNDP took place last week in Luanda.
  The project, entitled “Capacity Development of INAD”, will be implemented in the coming 3 years. The activities which the Japanese Government will support are: 1) increasing management and technical capacity of INAD at Headquarters level; 2) creating a Technical Demining School with enhanced management systems and an up-dated curriculum based on international and national mine action standards; and, 3) training 7 of 15 demining brigades to be equipped to respond to development needs in Angola in a safe and effective way.
