May 31, 2007 – The US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Jendayi Frazer said in Luanda, that her country wishes to jointly work for the development of Angola, as for the improvement of regional and international relations.
According to Jendayi Frazer, who began last Thursday an official visit of 72 hours, such fact is emphasized with her visit to the country in order to reinforce the already existent bilateral relations.
“Relations between Angola and the USA are very important for all Americans in general and in particular for President George Bush”, she stressed whilst speaking to the press at Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport.
During her stay in Angola, the US official will be received in an audience by the Foreign Affairs minister, João Bernardo de Miranda, and by the assistant minister of the Prime Minister, Aguinaldo Jaime.
Still this Thursday, she’s expected to meet with the deputy ministers of National Defence, Agostinho Fernandes Nelumba “Sanjar”, and of Territory Administration, Edeltrudes da Costa.
With the minister of Energy and Waters, Botelho de Vasconcelos, Jendayi Frazer will sign a financial agreement in the field of hydroelectric projects for Cuchi district, Kuando-Kubango province and for Luena city (Moxico).
Jendayi Frazer’s also reserves a trip to Huambo province where she will assess a programme that was elaborated by the local government. The US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs is set to return home on Sunday.
