Inauguration President swears in new ambassadors of the republic

Swore in ceremony – new ambassadors

Luanda - The President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, swore in new 33 new ambassadors recently appointed by him.

“Accept my congratulations” he said in a brief ceremony at the Presidential Palace, at “Cidade Alta”, which was attended by members of the executive and senior officials of his office.

The President said that the diplomats can count on his support and the support of the entire government in fulfilling the mission entrusted to them.

“I think that your skills and personal qualities are the guarantee that you will represent Angola with dignity and be able to promote and defend our country’s interests in the countries and regions where you will work”, also asserted José Eduardo dos Santos .

Were accredited Ambassadors of Angola in Morocco, the Hellenic Republic of Greece, the United States of America and South Africa respectively, Manuel Aragão, Isabel da Silva Feijó, Alberto Bento Ribeiro and Josefina Pitra Diakite.

Feliciano dos Santos, Apolinário Correia Arcanjo do Nascimento, Fidelino de Jesus Figueiredo, and Maria Ferreira dos Reis, are the new ambassadors of Angola in Guinea Bissau, the United Nations Office at Geneva and International Organizations, the African Union, the Republic of Singapore and Austria.

José Eduardo dos Santos also swore in the new diplomats in Hungary, Liseth Pena, the United Arab Emirates, Flávio Fonseca, Germany, Alberto Neto, Canadá, Agostinho da Silva Neto and the United Mexican States, Leovigildo da Costa e Silva.

For South Korea, Cape Verde, Sweden, China and Brazil, were swore in respectively, Albino Malungo, Josefina da Cruz, Brito Sózinho, João Garcia Bires and Nelson Cosme.

Balbina da Silva, to Zambia, Ana Carreira, Ghana, Osvaldo Varela, Switzerland and Isaías Vilinga, Mozambique, were also inducted.

The Chief of the Executive also granted tenure to António da Costa Fernandes, Ambassador to Egypt, Hermínio Escórcio, Argentina, Hendrik Vaal Neto, Zimbabwe, Domingos Culolo, Poland, Florêncio de Almeida, Italy, Miguel Fernandes for the UK, Great Britain and Northern Ireland, José Augusto César, Cuba, Joaquim Augusto de Lemos and Manuel Ruas, Guinea-Konacry.
