26/07/2011: Commercial exchange contributes to growth in southern region

The Angolan Minister of Trade, Idalina Valente, said in Ondjiva, province of Cunene the reinforcement of commercial exchange between Angola and Namibia will contribute significantly to the economic and social growth of the southern region of the country. The minister was speaking at the end of the Symposium on business exchange between both countries.

According to the Angolan authority, Namibia guarantees facility for the entrepreneurs of the Angolan southern region and other provinces due to its good infrastructures such as Walvis Bay Port, with great operation regarding the reception of goods from various countries.

Idalina Valente said that the Angola and Namibia commercial balance has already reached half a billion dollars from 2008 to 2009, but so far it needs to achieve these figures and increase them, as the current business volume between both countries is low.

The Namibian delegation of Trade and Industry comprising eighty (80) entrepreneurs and senior employees of Namibia’s government paid a visit to Angola on 5-7 July, aimed at strengthening cooperation ties.
