Defense minister calls for responsible attitude in fund management

Luanda – The Angolan National Defense minister, Cândido Pereira Van-Dunem urged in Luanda the leaders and officials of his Ministry and of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) to take a responsible attitude in the management of State funds.The minister made the appeal during the opening session of the second Methodological seminar of the organs of the system of inspection of the national defence running until Friday.

"The management of State funds must be made in the interest of the homeland and not to our own interest," said the minister.

The source said that the action of the Inspector-General of National Defense (renamed of the former Inspector General of FAA) should be doubled, so that offenders are exposed and criminally reported.

The meeting's main objective is to promote awareness to the  managers about the importance of proper management of resources made available to them and stress the importance of the organs of control and supervision in the institutions and organs of national defense.

Attending the seminar are generals, high officials and captains linked to the inspection services of the national defense, the chief inspectors of South Africa, Mxolisi Edward, Uganda, Ivan Koreta and Norbert Dabira.
